Afghan President Hamid Karzai left for Brussels on Tuesday to attend a trilateral meeting of Afghanistan, the US, and Pakistan.

At Wednesday’s meeting, discussions will focus on Afghanistan-Pakistan relations, the Afghan peace process, and the recent tension in relations between Kabul and Islamabad in the wake of artillery shelling in Kunar province and their border disputes. On the same day, 50 Foreign Ministers of NATO countries and representatives of countries with troops in Afghanistan met in Brussels. Afghanistan’s Foreign Minister and representatives of the UN and the EU also took part in the meeting to discuss the future of the International Security Assistance Force, ISAF and the security situation in Afghanistan.
