Trump defends trade policies for farmers
(VOVWORLD) - US President Donald Trump on Monday defended his tough trade policies in front of thousands of farmers and promised fair trade deals that will put America's rural heartland back on its feet.

Trump told farmers in New Orleans at the American Farm Bureau Federation annual convention that his trade policies will deliver long-term benefits for the American heartland. He added that the US’s trade negotiations with China are going well, but stopped short of providing any specific details.
The same day, Trump told a White House press conference that the US will reach a deal with China, who, he said, has a goodwill for negotiations. He said the Chinese economy strikes back due to the US’s tougher tariff measures.
