(VOVWORLD) - US President Donald Trump hinted on Monday that parts of his long-awaited Mideast peace plan may be released before Israel’s September 17 election.

Speaking on the sidelines of the G7 meeting in France, President Trump said the plan, whose roll-out has been delayed repeatedly over the last two years, was expected to be released this summer, but those plans went awry when Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu failed to form a government after the April election, triggering a new vote.
The economic side of the peace plan, which proposes an investment of 50 billion USD in the West Bank, Gaza strip, Jordan, Egypt and Libya, was revealed at an economic conference held by the US in Bahrain in June. The political part has not yet been announced.
