(VOVworld) - Five terrorists were killed Wednesday in Ben Guerdene, near the Libyan border, Tunisian Prime Minister Habib Essid said on Thursday.

The terrorists came from Libya and had planned to carry out attacks in Tunisia. Essid said the raid that killed them had foiled their operation. He praised the army and security forces for preventing militants from entering Tunisia. Essid said the Security Monitoring Committee will meet on Saturday to discuss ways to deal with terrorist organizations.

Libyan police said they captured 2 terrorists in the border area who escaped from Ben Guerdene and were trying to infiltrate Libya. The terrorists are members of IS. Libyan police said they will send these terrorists to Tunisian authorities.
