Turkey launches airstrikes on PKK in Iraq

Turkish Air Force has launched airstrikes on several Kurdistan Workers' Party, PKK,targets in Qandil, Iraq.

The airstrikes on Monday destroyed bunkers and arsenals in 4 places in northern Iraq, including the PKK’s base in Quandil mountainous area. Last week several clashes occurred between government forces and extremist gunmen in southeastern Kurish-majority regions.
More than 40,000 people have died in armed conflicts between the Turkish government and the PKK over the past 3 decades.
