(VOVWORLD) - US National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster will step down from his position, President Donald Trump said on Thursday.

Mr. Trump praised McMaster’s 34-year career and said on Twitter that his successor John Bolton will take over on April 9. Bolton is a former UN ambassador and has backed attacking Iran and North Korea.
The President’s top lawyer, John Dowd, resigned the same day amid rumors that Mr. Trump will soon replace all of his lawyers.
