Two Vietnamese included in Top 100 Asian Scientists by Singapore magazine
(VOVWORLD) -Singapore’s Asian Scientist magazine has just announced 100 leading Asian scientists in 2019, including Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Liem, a leading pediatric endoscopic surgeon and Dr. Nguyen Thi Hiep, head of the biomedical engineering department at the International University, Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City.

Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Liem was awarded the Nikkei Prize for Asian Citizens. He performed the operation of Vietnam's first robot and also the country's first stem cell transplant physician for the treatment of cerebral paresis and autism.
Dr. Nguyen Thi Hiep, Dean of the Biomedical Engineering Department in the International University – a member of the Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, has completed a research on a special kind of glue to stick wounds quickly in one minute. Her success promises a better chance of recovery for people who live far away from hospitals. Last year, Dr. Hiep received the ‘Women in Science International Rising Talents 2018 Award’ by L’Oréal - UNESCO Fund for developing a smart nanoparticle gel that can accelerate tissue regeneration.
