UK anti-terrorism police investigate suspected poisoning near Salisbury
(VOVWORLD) - Two British citizens became critically ill after being exposed to Novichok, the same nerve agent that struck down a former Russian agent and his daughter in March, an anti-terrorism police said on Wednesday.
The two were hospitalized after being found unwell on Saturday in Amesbury near Salisbury city.
The UK counter-terrorism police are leading an investigation, but said it is unclear how the two people came into contact with the nerve agent. There is nothing in their background to suggest they were specifically targeted.
