(VOVworld) – The UK government is drafting a law on the process to leave the European Union (EU), as Prime Minister Theresa May believes that the Supreme Court ruling could not delay the Brexit.

Last week, the Supreme Court determined that the UK government must seek Parliament approval to trigger Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty, a formal procedure to leave the EU. The government said this process may be postponed indefinitely as most parliamentarians do not support the Brexit. Prime Minister May announced that she will honor the people’s wish by triggering Article 50 no later than March 2017. May’s spokesperson said the government will challenge the court’s ruling next month.
