(VOVWORLD) - British intelligence officers have identified 23,000 jihadist extremists living in Britain as potential terrorist attackers.

According to The Times, approximately 3,000 of the total group are thought to pose an imminent threat and are under current investigation or active monitoring in 500 operations being conducted by police and intelligence services. The other 20,000 featured in previous investigations and are categorized as posing a “residual risk”.
