UK seeks to ease tensions with France
(VOVWORLD) - UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson is seeking ways to calm France’s anger at the new AUKUS alliance, which means Australia has abandoned a submarine deal with France to instead acquire American-made nuclear-powered submarines.

Bloomberg quoted Johnson on Sunday saying that the UK is proud of its ties with France and mentioning their cooperation in Mali and the Baltic nations and on nuclear simulation programs.
France has recalled its Ambassadors to Australia and the US after Australia unilaterally cancelled a 40-billion-USD deal with France in order to receive 8 nuclear-powered submarines from the US under a new security pact signed with the US and the UK.
