Ukraine plans to increase defense and national security in 2015
(VOVworld) – Ukraine plans to spend 5.4 billion USD or 5 percent of national budget in defense and national security funding in 2015, according to Secretary of the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council Oleksandr Turchynov.

Earlier, Ukrainian Minister of Defense Stepan Poltorak on December 12th called for a double increase for the military to import more weapons and be more well-equipped to deal with the separatists in eastern Ukraine.
Meanwhile, Secretary of the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council Oleksandr Turchynov said Ukrainians aged from 20 to 27 will have to join the army for 18 months. But Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said those new recruits would not have to go to the battlefields.
