Ukraine wants Russia to sign implementation schedule for Minsk Accords
(VOVworld) – The Kiev government has proposed that Moscow sign an implementation schedule for the Minsk Accords and support the ceasefire to begin on January 19. The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Sunday when Ukrainian presidential adviser Yury Biryukov announced that the Ukrainian military had been ordered to open heavy fire at the positions of militias in the southeastern region.

The Foreign Ministry said on its website that the steadfast implementation of this document will create the necessary pre-conditions for consultations of the Contact Group, meetings between the foreign ministers of Ukraine, France, Germany and Russia, and a summit of the leaders of these countries in Astana, Kazakhstan. The website also said Ukraine is ready to take part in consultations of the Contact Group at any time and that Kiev is fully honoring the Minsk Accords.
