(VOVworld) - The United Nations Security Council on Friday approved a resolution demanding a halt to all Israeli settlement in the occupied territories after the US refused to veto the resolution. The resolution passed by a 14-0 vote.

This is the first resolution on Israel and Palestine that is approved by the UN in the past 8 years.
The same day, Israel criticized US President Barrack Obama on being involved in the UN’s approval process of the resolution. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's Office said Israel will not abide by it.
