Regarding Mali, Ban said the UN is ready to provide logistics support to France’s military intervention there. The Secretary also voiced concern over recent developments on the Korean peninsula, particularly following North Korea’s announcement of a nuclear test. He urged Pyongyang to strictly comply with UN Security Council’s resolutions and actively participate in 6-party talks on North Korea’s nuclear program.
