UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has expressed his hope that Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad will positively respond to the opposition’s offer of talks to defuse impasse over the 2-year bloodshed conflict. Speaking to reporters, Ban called on the government and factions in Syria, neighboring countries, who are influential to Damascus, and UN Security Council members to narrow differences to seek a solution to the ongoing crisis in Syria. He noted that the international community does not accept any justification for the use of force against the innocent people. Meanwhile, Syria’s Minister of Information Omran al-Zoubi said on Friday that the Syrian government is ready to talk with the oppositions under the condition that armed groups lay down their arms and end their military attacks.
