(VOVWORLD) - UN Secretary General and leaders from around the world have condemned the shooting at Donald Trump’s rally in Pennsylvania.

A spokesperson of United Nations secretary general António Guterres on Saturday condemned the shooting, called it an “act of political violence”, and wished Trump a quick recovery.
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau wrote on X that he was “sickened” by the shooting, adding that political violence is never acceptable.
Josep Borrell, the EU’s foreign policy chief, condemned the attack and reiterated that acts of violence against political representatives are unacceptable.
Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva said the shooting “must be strongly condemned by all defenders of democracy and political dialogue”.
Leaders of Argentina, Chile, and Bolivia all expressed condemnation of the shooting.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said he was deeply concerned by the shooting and strongly condemned the act.
