UN cuts peacekeeping budget
(VOVWORLD) -UN members on Sunday agreed to a peacekeeping budget of just under 6.7 billion USD, about 600 million less than last year.
The 2017 budget was initially set at 6.8 billion USD but was boosted in December by an additional 500 million USD for missions in Haiti and Sudan. The budget will be formally endorsed by the General Assembly later this week.
