UN General Assembly: Iran condemns US “economic terrorism”
(VOVWORLD) - Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on Wednesday told the UN General Assembly that he opposed US sanctions against Iran and called them “a form of economic terrorism”.

He said international security is threatened because some countries are reckless and disrespect international values and institutions. He said challenging multilateralism is a symptom of intellectual weakness. Mr. Rouhani criticized US President Donald Trump’s speech and accused the White House of attempting to overthrow Iran’s government. He applauded countries which oppose Trump’s unilateral withdrawal from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action.
The same day, President Rouhani met with British Prime Minister Theresa May and underscored Iran’s willingness to support regional and global de-escalation.
