The meeting was convened at the request of Russia to discuss its accusations of US’s biological programs in Ukraine.

On Tuesday, the Russian Foreign Ministry announced that authorities in Kyiv destroyed dangerous pathogens of deadly diseases stored in US-funded laboratories in Ukraine.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said the ministry had received documents from employees at Ukrainian biological laboratories confirming the urgent destruction of dangerous pathogens such as plague, anthrax, tularemia, cholera, and other deadly diseases on February 24.

But Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky insisted that Ukraine doesn’t develop chemical weapons or any other weapons of mass destruction.

The US has strongly denied Russia's accusations that Washington is housing biological weapons laboratories in Ukraine.
