Lakhdar Brahimi, UN and Arab League peace envoy, has called for a truce in Syria during the Eid al-Alda Muslim festival at the end of this month. Brahim made the call after visiting Iraq and Iran to such a solution for Syria’s conflict, which has killed 33,000 people in the last 20 months. Brahim is considering asking for a peacekeeping force in Syria if a political agreement is not reached.
