Ambassador Dang Dinh Quy, Head of the Vietnamese Permanent Mission to the UN, called it an honor for Vietnam to be both a non-permanent member and the President of the Council for January. He added that Vietnam will work hard to contribute to the Council’s work and improve awareness of the UN Charter and multilateralism.
The same day, the UN Security Council ratified Vietnam’s program for this month, which will focus on pushing multilateralism, the UN Charter, and the rule of international law to create a better, more peaceful world. Vietnam also aims to promote cooperation between ASEAN and the UN.
