(VOVWORLD) -The United Nations Security Council said on Wednesday that it had removed two leaders of the Ministry of Education under Taliban government in Afghanistan from the sanctions exemption list. These two ministers are no longer eligible to travel abroad for any peace talks.

The measure was approved by the Security Council's Taliban Sanctions Committee after the Taliban government reneged on a commitment made in March to send girls to school.
The Taliban said schools for girls will be closed until a plan is drawn up in accordance with Islamic law.
