UN urges Egypt to stabilise the situation after elections

(VOVworld) – UN Secretary-General Ban Ki Moon on Tuesday urged Egyptian authorities to ensure security and long-term stability in the country. Ban believed that newly-elected President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi would do his utmost to fulfil the Egyptian people’s expectation of a stable, democratic, and prosperous Egypt. He said the Egyptian government needed to improve democracy within government agencies and in public policy, adding that the UN committed to support and co-operate with Egypt in the future.
