(VOVworld) – Illegal migrants fleeing across the Mediterranean to Europe might get stuck in limbo if European countries apply different policies, the United Nations warned amid EU squabbles over how to deal with the current migration crisis.

European countries’ announcements of various border check measures on Monday demonstrated the need for a comprehensive response such as building migrant reception centers to deal with the record numbers of people trying to get to Greece, Italy, or Hungary. The plan must be supported by all parties involved, including the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
