(VOVworld) - The Union of South American Nations (UNASUR) members on Saturday demanded the US government revoke the executive decree that declares Venezuela as a “threat” to the security of the US. In a statement released after the union’s first working session in Ecuador, leaders of South American Nations expressed their rejection of Executive Order US government approved on March 9 that “constitutes an interventionist threat to sovereignty and the principle of non-intervention in the internal affairs of other States. They also reaffirmed their commitment “to the full observance of international law, the peaceful settlement of disputes and the principle of nonintervention”. In this regard, they urged the United States to evaluate and implement “alternative to dialogue with the Government of Venezuela under the principle of sovereignty”.
