(VOVWORLD) - The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) has just approved a new Country Program Document for Vietnam from 2022 to 2026 for a green, prosperous Vietnam with no-one left behind. The program is attached with a financial package of more than 120 million USD.
UNDP’s program aims to support the government to accelerate achievement of the Goals, guided by the UNDP Strategic Plan’s three outcomes: Shared prosperity through sustainable economic transformation; Climate change, disaster resilience and environmental sustainability; Governance and access to justice.
UNDP will support government with capacities for anticipatory, adaptive and agile (triple AAA) responses to complex and emerging challenges.
UNDP Resident Representative in Vietnam Caitlin Wiesen said Vietnam is at a critical juncture in its efforts to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic, which has the opportunity to create growth in a sustainable, inclusive way and provide many jobs for the people. With the new 5-Year Country Program, UNDP looks forward to deepening cooperation with Viet Nam in its efforts to end persistent poverty and develop pathways to achieve net zero emissions and the Sustainable Development Goals, she said.
