(VOVworld) - The United Nations fund for children, UNICEF has announced a funding of 250,000 USD for an integrated program to improve children’s living conditions in the Central Highland province of Kon Tum.

The amount was raised during an event last year when UNICEF’s ZEROawards donors gave a total of 400,000 USD which will be used for education, healthcare, safe water supply, and environmental sanitation projects. 

About 50,000 children in the province are expected to benefit from the program.

Kon Tum has been selected to benefit from the program because it is facing numerous challenges in providing health care and support for children with mortality of children under 5 double the average rate of the whole country and more than 40% of local children are malnourished.
