(VOVworld) – On Wednesday, dozens of trucks carrying UN’s humanitarian aid entered the suburb of Syria’s capital city of Damascus, as part of an UN-sponsored deal to supply desperately-needed food and medicine to trapped areas.

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) said 29 trucks carried necessary aid including food, sanitary equipment, medical equipment, and school stationery for the entire population in Harasta of the northeastern suburb of Damascus, which is under the control of anti government forces. This has been the first aid delivery to the area since 2012.
