Urban planning to focus on human and life quality
(VOVWORLD) -The Party Politburo held on Wednesday a nationwide conference to boost the implementation of Politburo’s Resolution No.6 on urban planning, building, management and development by 2030, with a vision towards 2045.

The first Politburo resolution on urban development after 35 years of renewal aims at at least 45 percent of urbanization by 2025 and over 50 percent in 2030. Vietnam’s urban centers expect to reach in the upper middle range in the ASEAN with at least 5 world class metropolis.
Permanent member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat, Vo Van Thuong, emphasized on long-term vision in urban planning with a focus on human and life quality.
“It’s possible to build a modern city with advanced infrastructure but it is also crucial to change theoretical mindset and urban planning methods, and ensure the long-term vision, harmony and modernity of planning schemes, with people and their living standards at the center, and urban culture and civilization as the development foundation. Urban management requires decentralization, while urban development needs the utilization of both local and external resources. A program of action on the materialization of the resolution so be issued shortly to reflect the reality in each locality and region,” he said.
