(VOVWORLD) - The US on Thursday sent 2 surveillance aircraft and many weapons to the Phillipines to help fight IS militants.
The 2 Cessna C208B aircraft and other equipment will aid sea surveillance and the fight against terrorism, according to US ambassador to the Phillipines Sung Kim and Fillipino Minister of Defence Delfin Lorenzana. The US also sent a P3 Orion surveillance aircraft to help control Marawi airspace.

In the coming months, the US will send more air surveillance equipment to the Phillipines to bolster defense.
