(VOVworld) – US Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley says Washington is considering responses to North Korea’s recent missile launch.

At a press conference after a closed meeting of the UN Security Council on Wednesday, Haley said “all options are on the table”, without providing any details. Regarding China’s proposal that the US and South Korea suspend joint military exercises in exchange for a suspension of North Korea nuclear and missile activities,  Haley said Washington has to see some positive actions taken by North Korea before taking it seriously.

UK Ambassador to the UN Matthew Rycroft said North Korea’s missile tests have escalated tensions in the region, which could lead to an arms race. In response, the UN Security Council has urged its members to step up their efforts to fully implement sanctions against North Korea.
