US, China, Japan leaders discuss North Korean issue
(VOVWORLD) - The threat posed by North Korea was a key topic in phone calls between US President Donald Trump and the leaders of China and Japan, along with trade issues.

The White House said in a statement on Sunday that the leaders reaffirmed their commitment to a denuclearized Korean Peninsula. In one conversation, President Trump and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe agreed to increase pressure on Pyongyang. The two leaders said the US-Japan alliance is ready to self-defend and respond to any threat or acts from North Korea.
