US Deputy Secretary of State to visit Vietnam
(VOVWORLD) - US Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman will travel to South Korea, the Philippines, Vietnam and Laos from June 5 to 14, the State Department said on Friday.

During her visit to Vietnam, Ms. Wendy Sherman will meet Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh, Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son and Deputy Minister Ha Kim Ngoc to emphasize the strength of the US-Vietnam comprehensive partnership and the US’s support for a strong, prosperous and independent Vietnam. Ms. Wendy Sherman will also announce additional support for surveying and cleaning unexploded ordnance to demonstrate the US’s continued commitment to addressing legacies of war.
She will also discuss the supply chain resilience with private sector representatives and together with Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Minh Hoan launch a USAID-funded project to counter wildlife trafficking in Vietnam
While in HCM City, she will meet Party Secretary of HCM City Nguyen Van Nen and deliver a speech at the Fulbright University.
