The probe will center on allegations that Trump pressured the leader of Ukraine to investigate Trump’s political rival Joe Biden and his family.

In a statement after a closed-door meeting with other leaders of the Democratic Party, Pelosi said the President must be held accountable and no one is above the law.

Trump is accused of pressuring Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky in July to investigate the Burisma Group, a Ukrainian energy company where Vice President Joe Biden's son served on the board of directors.

Trump complained that the impeachment inquiry undermines his performance at ongoing UN General Assembly.
