US imposes new tariffs on Chinese goods
(VOVWORLD) - US President Donald Trump has decided to impose “significant” tariffs on Chinese goods, officials said on Thursday, as Beijing warned that it was ready to retaliate if Washington chose to increase trade tensions.

President Trump’s tariff list, applying 25% on 50 billion USD of Chinese goods, will include 800 product categories. The new policy will take effect when the list is officially unveiled.
Chinese President Xi Jinping on Thursday told US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo that the two nations should make use of bilateral mechanisms to ease the current escalating trade tensions.
