(VOVworld) – The US on Monday imposed sanctions on Yemen’s Former President, Ali Abdullah Saleh, and two senior Houthi rebel leaders for threatening Yemen’s peace and stability, following a similar action by the UN Security Council last week. The US Department of the Treasury said that the sanctions would prohibit American firms and people from conducting business with the 3 Yemenis and freeze any assets that they may have in the US.
