(VOVworld) - US President Barack Obama is set to meet with Indonesian President Joko Widodo on Monday. The White House said the two leaders will talk about cooperation in economics, trade, investment, emissions reduction, anti-terrorism efforts, digital technology application, and navigation security in the East Sea. Trade between the US and Indonesia reached 28 billion USD last year, which is still less than their potential as the biggest economy in world and the biggest economy in Southeast Asia.

Indonesia has pledged a 29 percent reduction in green-house gas emissions by 2030 and it could raise that to 41 percent if Indonesia receives billions more in foreign aid.

Indonesia’s Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs, Luhut Pandjatan, told the press prior to the visit that navigation security and defence relations will also be on the agenda of the discussion.

During his five-day official visit to the US, President Widodo is scheduled to meet with leaders of US groups and companies, and will visit Silicon Valley to seek investors.
