The move comes following the DOC issuing the final conclusion in the 18th review (POR18) for the period from August 1, 2020, to July 31, 2021, for Vietnamese pangasius and basa fish. Following a request made by relevant stakeholders, the DOC has kept the anti-dumping tax rate applied to each company based on the results of the most recent reviews.

During the 17th review (POR17), the DOC assessed that two Vietnamese enterprises were subject to respective anti-dumping duties of 0.00 USD per kilo and 3.87 USD per kilo, while one company is to be subject to a separate tax rate of 1.94 USD per kilo. Furthermore, a national tax rate of 2.39 USD per kilo has been applied to the remaining 32 companies as part of the review.

At present, the DOC is in the process of receiving the application for the 19th review (POR19) for the period from August 1, 2021, to July 31 for Vietnamese pangasius.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade will continue to work alongside the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP), Vietnamese pangasius exporters, and the US side in order to strictly monitor and update information as part of efforts to deal with relevant issues, thereby ensuring the legitimate rights and interests of Vietnam in this regard.

China and the US remain the nation’s two leading pangasius export markets, with export turnover in the reviewed period reaching nearly 500 million USD and 428 million USD, respectively.
