(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam's fishery exports earned 5.8 billion USD in the first half of this year, up nearly 41% over the same period last year, which is a record high growth rate, said the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP).

Shrimp and pangasius were consumed the most. With export prospering, many seafood enterprises are optimistic about the market.
VASEP predicts that fishery exports will reach 10 billion USD for the first time this year. It is expected that this year's shrimp export is likely to exceed the USD 4 billion mark. Pangasius exports also recorded a record high growth rate, reaching 1.4 billion USD in the first half of the year.
