US officially withdraws from Paris Climate Agreement
(VOVWORLD) - The US, the world’s second largest emitter of greenhouse gas, officially withdrew from the Paris Climate Agreement on Wednesday, three years after President Donald Trump announced his intent to remove the US from participating in the global forum to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

The historic accord seeks to limit global warming to less than 2 degrees Celsius, the value that climate scientists have determined will have disastrous consequences if exceeded.
The US has been the only country having withdrawn from the accord among 197 signatory countries.
