The US and Pakistan on Tuesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on NATO supply routes, replacing the current agreement.
The new agreement indicates the routes followed by NATO supply trucks to Afghanistan via Pakistan, and a list of items banned from being transported through Pakistani territory. Transportation of weapons and ammunition via Pakistan will not be allowed except for Afghan National Army.
The MoU states that officials from both countries will meet once every two months to evaluate compliance. The US will release more than 1 billion dollars under the Coalition Support Fund to reimburse Pakistan for fighting militants within its borders.
