US President holds phone calls with UK, French leaders on Syria attack
(VOVWORLD) -US President Donald Trump on Saturday spoke by phone to the leaders of the UK and France about the joint air strikes the three nations launched on Syria a day before.

The White House said Mr. Trump spoke with Prime Minister Theresa May and President Emmanuel Macron in separate phone calls, where he thanked the UK and France for the joint air strikes. The three leaders each said that the air strikes were "successful and necessary" to deter Syria from further use of chemical weapons.
