(VOVworld) – US President-elect Donald Trump on Wednesday criticized the multilateralism of the UN which he said has great potential but can’t address global issues.

The UN now is “just a club for people to get together, talk and have a good time," Trump tweeted days after the UN Security Council approved a resolution condemning Israeli settlements in the West Bank and east Jerusalem.
Trump’s criticism was made after the new UN General Secretary Antonio Guterres said he wanted to meet President-elect Trump as soon as possible and is determined to set up a constructive dialogue with the US new administration.
The former Portuguese Prime Minister will take office on January 1st 2017 and Trump will enter office 20 days later.
