(VOVworld) – The US on Monday urged Afghanistan to accelerate negotiations on the Bilateral Security Agreement (BSA) which is expected to be achieved by the end of this month. The pact will set out the terms of US troop presence in Afghanistan after 2014.

US State Department deputy spokeswoman Marie Harf said that there has been progress, but negotiations are complex. She hoped that sensitive issues will be resolved in high-level meetings.

Afghan President Hamid Karzai said Monday that while the two sides are approaching a deal, he is still not satisfied. He reiterated that any accord has to guarantee the Afghans and their interests.
