(VOVworld) – US Secretary of State John Kerry flew to Paris Monday to assure France of Washington’s support after last week's deadly attacks which killed at least 129 people.

According to State Department spokesman John Kirby, during talks with French President Francois Hollande Monday morning, Kerry reiterated America's commitment to counter violent extremism in France and elsewhere.

US President Barack Obama vowed support for France following the Paris attack. He told reporters after the G20 summit in Turkey that Washington is sharing intelligence promptly with France to protect against future attacks.
