(VOVworld) – US Secretary of State John Kerry began a tour of the Middle East on January 1 to boost peace negotiations between Israel and Palestine. This is his 10th trip to the region since he took office early last year.
Kerry will meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem and then in Ramallah talk with Palestinian President Mahmud Abbas.
Kerry will present to the two leaders a draft of a peace deal which addresses all controversial core issues including the borders of a future Palestinian state, regulations for Jerusalem, Palestinian refugees in the Israel – occupied area, and a security mechanism for the West Bank after the establishment of an independent Palestinian State.
