At the Munich Security Conference, Mr. John Kerry said they were facing the gravest humanitarian crisis in Europe since World War II. He said the US pledged to support Europe and expressed his belief that the Islamic State group would be defeated. Mr. Kerry said many European people see themselves as victims of great challenges but as traditionally, the Europe would be stronger from the crisis.
Regarding the effort to fight terrorism, John Kerry said it was essential to wipe out IS militants as soon as possible after they had carried out a number of bomb attacks in Brussels, Paris and Istanbul. IS is a global threat, thus it also requires the participation of NATO and European countries to defeat the group.
The US Secretary of State also urged related parties to reach political, humanitarian and military agreement to ensure humanitarian access and ceasefire in Syria.
