US senators submit bill on funding landmine clearance in Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia

(VOVWORLD) - Representative of the US House Committee on Appropriations, Senator Tammy Baldwin, of the Democratic Party from Wisconsin State, and Senator Jerry Moran of the Republican Party from Kansas State, on Wednesday submitted a bipartisan bill on allocating funding for clearing landmines and other unexploded ordnance left over from the war in Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia.

The bill reaffirms the US’s long-term commitment to providing financial support for demining programs in the three countries. In the future period from 2025-2029, the US has committed to earmarking 100 million USD annually for this work.
