(VOVWORLD) - US President Donald Trump’s administration said Wednesday that Chinese passenger carriers will be banned from flying to the US after June 16 to penalize Beijing for failing to adhere to agreements regulating flights between the two countries.

The ban will bar flights for Air China, China Eastern Airlines, China Southern Airlines, Hainan Airlines, Sichuan Airlines, and Xiamen Airlines, which currently operate 4 round-trip flights per week.
